Wedding Skin 101: How To Prep Your Redhead Skin For The Big Day

Get Wedding Ready, Now!

Prepping for your wedding is a lot of work. You have a million things to plan organize and decide on. It may involve coordinating various details like venue, guest lists, catering, decorations, and more. It can be complex due to the numerous components that need careful organization to ensure a smooth and memorable event. Too often, during stressful or busy times we forget about our skin. Keeping your skin looking bright and beautiful in the time leading up to the wedding is key to having it look flawless on the big day.

Instead of wondering and worrying about your skin, follow this easy guide to help get your skin wedding ready starting… NOW:

Immediately

If you don’t have a skincare routine, start one. At minimum, you should be using cleaner, moisturizer, and SPF daily. The key to a good skincare routine is understanding your skin and what it needs and consistency. Getting a set routine will keep you consistent and help your skin really benefit from the products you’re using.

A basic routine could be washing, toning, applying a serum, and using a moisturizer every day and night. During the day, apply your SPF after your moisturizer. If you have products you like, stick to them but if you’re looking to try something new or don’t have products you love, look for things that are sensitive skin friendly (most redheads have sensitive skin) and be sure that none of the ingredients will combat each other.

Six Months Before the Wedding

You’ve got your basic skincare routine down, but now it’s time to really start the prep for the wedding. Skin treatments should always be done several months before a big event because you never know how your skin will react. If you do the treatments and everything goes well, you can do them closer to the big day, but only if you’re 100% sure your skin will have time to recover. Things to do during this period:

  • Start a new retinoid
  • Find an aesthetician you like
  • Try out laser treatments
  • Try out vitamin C, AHAs, and BHAs

Last Two Weeks Before the Wedding

Now is not the time to try anything new or add anything to your routine. This is the time to focus on hydration. Drink tons of water and use your moisturizer religiously. This will help your face, body, and hair.

You want calm, moisturized, firm skin for your big day, so your makeup applies beautifully. Gentle at-home masks (that you’ve tested well before) and facial steaming can all be great during this time. You want to avoid any breakouts or blemishes so be gentle on your skin and if anything pops up, treat it right away to reduce any redness that may linger.

Rock it like a Redhead!
