We Think Redheads Should Bring Back Weekly Salon Washes

Why Is Wash Day SO Much Better At The Salon?

It used to be commonplace for women to get their hair washed once a week at the salon and not wash it at home. This practice has become a bit outdated, although some women may still do it.

We all know: there is nothing like salon hair. It’s clean, bouncy, and has life to it. Keeping hair properly washed and blown out/styled is a secret to keeping red hair looking vibrant and shiny.

For all redheads — natural & ‘by choice’ — we think it’s time to bring back weekly salon washes if you really want to keep your hair looking its best.

Red hair is also becoming more and more popular. It has been named the “it” hair color of the season and we are going to be welcoming more and more redheads by choice to our ranks. Weekly washing is the best way to keep dyed red hair from fading, and your stylist will be able to use products that can keep your hair healthy even with all the coloring.

One of the big concerns for weekly washing is excess oiliness. Well, that’s where wash training comes in; it may take some time but you can train your hair to need washing less often. We also recommend a dry shampoo to keep your scalp feeling clean until your next salon wash.

For some redheads, once-a-week washes might not cut it, but even a twice-a-week wash is better than daily washing. Check out our guide to styling your hair for a week with just 2 wash days.

We also know not all redheads really want to go to the salon every week, so of course, this method can easily be done at home with weekly shower washes, the use of cold water, and a great quality blow dryer. And if your color is fading, try a color depositing shampoo to retain vibrancy.
