If you’ve ever been told you’re “not a redhead” because your hair isn’t the brightest or most vibrant shade of red, you’re not alone. This week’s guest has been told she “doesn’t have red hair” because it’s strawberry blonde, but she’s putting that to rest.
We can’t wait for you to spend time with Dr. Betsy Grunch. She is a board-certified Neurosurgeon and a natural redhead. With over 1.2 million followers at the time of recording, she posts about spinal health and motherhood. She also speaks about redhead experiences like getting sunburnt and of course her beauty routine. You can find Dr. Grunch on Instagram and TikTok under the username @ladyspinedoc
Her main interests are minimally invasive spine techniques, and advancing the field of neurotrauma. She lives with her husband, Ray, two children, Riley and Beatrice, and her two dogs, Pancake, and Butters, in Gainesville, Georgia.
Adrienne + Stephanie chatted with Dr. Grunch about what it was like growing up as a redhead, how she got her start on social media and how she grew a viral TikTok account. They also dove into some beauty questions to discuss Dr. Grunch’s makeup habits and preferences, and what changes have happened to her red hair now that she’s in her 40s.
Dr. Grunch also answers the question we all want to know, what’s more exclusive the Redhead Club or the Female Surgeons Club? Julianne Moore is famously quoted saying, “Redheads are in a secret club.” We loved Dr. Grunch’s answer.
