Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s filled with family, friends and good food–but redheads all over should be thankful for the “redhead friendly” thanksgiving color palette. Camel, olive green, deep burgundy, burnt yellows and blues are all classic thanksgiving colors that translate perfectly into a fashionable color palette for copper-topped beauties.

We are all inspired by high fashion, but when it’s all about family and thanks, you want to feel comfortable too. Here are some of my fashion suggestions for this week to keep you looking fabulous & relaxed:

Winter can be tough on a redhead’s sensitive skin and since most of us can’t curl up by a roaring fire and hibernate all winter, it’s imperative to take extra precaution against the cold winter winds (if you live in a super cold region that is!).

We already know five tips for keeping skin safe this season, but here are four more secrets I can not live without:

1. Mix a couple drops of concealer with your every day moisturizer. This will help you hide any imperfections and prevent chapped skin.

2. Maybelline BabyLips chapstick is super hydrating and adds just the right hint of color. As an added bonus, each color has its own flavor like Cherry or Strawberry Kiwi.

3. I sometimes leave a tube of emergency mascara in my car, but the icy weather can dry out a brand new tube in no time. If your mascara starts to dry out, add a couple of drops of saline contact solution to help revive it. *Safety Tip: Make sure you don’t try and revitalize mascara that’s too old because eye makeup is a breeding ground for nasty bacteria that can be harmful to your eyes.

4. Before you get out of the shower, rub yourself down with a coat of baby oil. It works better than any moisturizer I have found and it leaves your sensitive skin feeling soft and smooth, rather than sticky.

Hello redheads, I have stumbled across a brand that you all must run out and try. I am sure you’ve heard of it: Clarins. The end of summer is always bittersweet for me. I’m sad to see the warm weather fade away, but I am always just as excited to break out the boots and scarves.  A change in seasons is essentially a free wardrobe makeover as you switch from light summer fabrics and sink into the comfort of oversized sweaters.  This fall, I think redheads should take a page from the jungle book and have some fun with animal print.  From small accents like belts and sunglasses to full blown statement pieces, have fun with leopard and zebra.

Here are 4 tips for how to rock animal print this fall season:

1. Try spicing up your favorite skinny jeans with a sky high pair of leopard print pumps.

2. Rock your LBD with a skinny zebra belt cinched at the waist.

3. If you really want to make a statement, try pairing your favorite animal print with some bold pops of color.

4. If you want to go really bold, go with the untraditional colored animal print pants, but make sure to wear neutral colors throughout the rest of your outfit.

5. You can’t manage to work some animal print into your wardrobe? No problem! Try some cool sunglasses for when you’re walking the streets.

For redheads, animal print is always on point, and can always add spice to an outfit. TIP: Make sure to not go overboard with prints. They are made to accent only!

Don’t be afraid to be the queen of the concrete jungle this fall and Rock it like a Redhead with animal print!

Summer is finally here my redheaded friends, and with the sun shining bright (don’t forget the SPF!) it’s time to let summer style flood our closets again.  Music festivals take the main stage during the summer months, so why not make like a celebrity at Coachella and get into the festival style groove.  From floral prints on your clothes to retro prints that take you back to the hippy style of the 1960s, use these fashion cues from summer festivals to accent your fabulous red locks!

1. Funky Shades

With cat eye shapes to remind of us decades past and classic wayfarers popping up in neon colors and prints, snag a fabulous pair of new shades to rock all summer long, just don’t forget to choose a pair that will accent your stunning red hair!

2. Head Scarves

Our fiery hair already grabs all the attention when you walk in the room, so why not accent your tresses with a fabulous headscarf this summer!  I love one with a mix of warm and cool colors to complement the red.  As an added bonus, the scarf is a quick an easy go to in the morning when you don’t have a ton of time to style!

3. Floral All Over

Palazzo pants, swimsuits and sundresses are all covered in floral prints this summer so join the crowds and find your inner flower child by rocking this feminine print as much as possible!

4. Colorful Cut-Offs

Denim in rainbow shades has been a hit since winter, so why not style this trend to beat the heat in a pair of colorful shorts—you can even add a pair of Keds for an especially retro feel!

With only two percent of Americans claiming fiery red tresses as their natural hair color (with many others converting to the spellbinding, scarlet hue), it’s important that those of us lucky enough to be part of that elite group of gingers take care of every strand we’ve got!

After much personal experimentation, and some unfortunately bad hair days, here are some simple changes you can make to your daily routine to improve the look and life of your fabulous red hair:

Whether it’s boredom or chipped imperfection that leads me to my trusty manicure kit (or a splurge to the manicurist), when it comes to nail polish I love trying new colors and styles.  Here are my favorite trends and traditions for you to try—an added bonus is that they are all “redhead friendly!”

1. Easter Egg Pastels-   Although it’s a traditionally spring/summer trend, I rock a luxurious lavender all year round!  Seeing the pale purple every day reminds me that spring is just around the corner even in the middle of  a blizzard! Try: Essie- St. Lucia Lilac

What’s the best way to wear red during the holiday season? Well it’s a long-standing myth that redheads shouldn’t wear red, but it’s time to put that myth to bed with some fabulous new ways to style that vibrant hue. We rock this fabulous shade all year round and a little extra never hurt anyone, so here are my favorite ways to rock the crimson shade this winter!

Pucker Up! The easiest way to work a little extra red into your look is to add a pop of color on your lips!   Never choose a lipstick too close to your hair color because it can make our faces look hollow and lifeless; instead, choose a great shade that stands out even next to fiery locks!  Try NARS Heat Wave for a pumped up look that only adds 10 seconds to your getting ready routine.

Fabulous Accents! Brightly colored accents are so on trend right now, so think back to your color wheel to gain some inspiration.  From jeans to belts or a great pair of shoes, red is an especially eye-catching color that adds a little oomph to any outfit!

Glitz and Glamour! Red and gold jewelry has a fabulously luxurious feel that makes any outfit ten times better!  Try adding stacks of gold and red bangles on your arm for a simple touch that really adds to your outfit.  My favorite is this pair of earrings.   The gold color near your face and hair will make your features pop!

Go All the Way! Take the plunge and make an entrance in the perfect red dress.  Jessica Rabbit rocked her famous red sequin number and made jaws drop and so can you!  While floor length red sparkles may be a bit much, instead opt for a deep garnet or burgundy color in flirty style.  Just as most other jewel tones bring out the best of our ginger features, a deep crimson will accent your red hair and you’ll definitely stand out in a sea of black, green and gold at the office party!
