As redheads, we need to count on an eyeliner that won’t budge, no matter what life throws at us (be it happy tears, saltwater or a hot yoga class) –– while also causing zero irritation. Waterproof eyeliners can do wonders to open and define eyes, making red hair stand out even more. Don’t be afraid to try other ‘redhead friendly’ shades such as navy blue, purple, green, brown and gold.
1. Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil ($10)
This one comes in three colors: black, brown and grey. I prefer to use the black as I like a strong classic look. It has stood the test of swimming underwater with my nieces in their pool, beach days filled with hours of bodyboarding and weddings. I typically tight-line my eyes to give them more definition and it is often hard to find something that won’t cause irritation and redness, however, this pencil does the trick. It is also cruelty and gluten-free.

2. Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Eye Liner ($29)
Say hello a super buildable, squeezable cream liner. It has lasted me through showers, swimming and sleeping in it (I know it’s not healthy to sleep with your makeup, but it looked pretty amazing the next day).
3. Annabelle Brush Tip Eyeliner ($10)
An easy-to-use liquid liner that comes in some great ‘redhead friendly’ shades including gold, burgundy and rose gold. Create a precise cat-eye and you’ll be good to go all day.
4. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Naked Heat Collection ($21)
Urban Decay has added some new shades to this collection and we’re in love. Seriously, they are all super ‘redhead friendly’ shades. Overdrive, Lucky, Rockstar and Double Life are some of our favs.
5. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($21)
A cult-favorite and for good reason. It has a strong pigment and doesn’t run at all. Trust us when we say, it stays put all day for a fade, melt, crack, and run-resistant finish.
6. Maybelline New York Master Precise Ink Metallic Liquid Liner ($8)
Make your eyes pop with this Maybelline liner in Cosmic Purple. This metallic liquid eyeliner is smudge-proof and waterproof.
