Liz Washer kicks off Season 2 as Adrienne and Stephanie’s 1st guest on the How to be a Redhead podcast. She is a professional makeup artist and has worked on redhead brides since 2005. Based in Massachusetts, she is recognized for her natural touch and eye for color. She is proficient at HD makeup application (including airbrush); her specialty is clean, feature-enhancing, camera-ready makeup.
Liz worked with H2BAR on a ‘RED-itorial’ photo shoot in 2011 in Boston, MA, and both Adrienne and Stephanie loved her work ever since! At the end of Episode 16 in Season 1, we briefly discussed makeup tips for redhead brides. So many of you reached out wanting more advice! We couldn’t think of anyone better than Liz to share expert makeup tips with our redhead audience.

Wear water-resistant mascara on your wedding day!
Try Senna’s Form-A-Brow kit to get glamorous brows. You can also use a MAC eyeshadow to fill in your brows.
To eliminate redness, try a primer like Makeup For Ever’s Smoothing Primer. To cancel out the red, go more yellow. Green is okay but be sure to use green very sparingly and sheerly, as it can drain all the pink from your skin, making you look a bit grey.
For lipsticks, try a lip stain like Sephora Collections’ Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in #1 – Red. Opt for a silicone gloss after applying the stain, or else it’ll look really matte. An oily gloss will break down the gloss.
